Game Summary:

For those who are fans of the beat-em-up games, you can’t go past a good bout of Street Fighter, Tekken, or even some Soul Calibur. Capcom already released their contribution to 2009 with Street Fighter 4, a somewhat decent but extremely repetitive game. Now it’s Namco's turn to take the crown as the best fighting game of 2009 with Tekken 6.

The plot follows on from Tekken 5, as always, revolving around the King Of Iron Fist Tournament, so it’s easy enough to get into, even if you haven’t played Tekken before. It features the good ol' Arcade mode, multiplayer, time attack and survival, along with the new addition of Scenario mode. The online play is also highly anticipated, with tournaments already being organised. You can customise your character by buying outfits and such with the money you gain from successful online wins.
The fighting areas are unbelievably detailed too, and with a well-aimed blow, you can knock your opponent straight through the wall into a whole other level! Take some time out from beating the shit out of your opponent to happily destroy the environment to see what you can uncover and use to your advantage.

And if you ever get tired of breaking things or beating the shit out of people, you can play the Scenario-mode, where you follow your character around numerous levels destroying enemies that all look the same. It’s a very random sort of game, where you have to eat floating chickens to maintain health, find random power-up boxes in your path to smash, and somehow acquire mini guns. Random, yes, but highly entertaining nonetheless!

There are also 40 different characters, the highest roster seen for any fighting game. With the return of all your favourites as well as a few new characters thrown in, the multitude of characters all range from a bread-and-butter character with easy to understand moves, to complex characters complete with 12-hit combos to master. So whether you're a Tekken virgin or a Tekken whore, there's something here for you to keep you entertained for a long time. It’s out today, so go grab a copy, get some mates round, and see who can beat the shit out of the other first.
